2024 Grand Marshal

Levy graduated from Rifle High School then enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps achieving the rank of Sergeant. Upon returning to Colorado, he worked for the Family business and then joined the Rifle Police Department. Levy then served with the Garfield County Sheriff’s Office as a Deputy Sheriff, Sergeant, Investigator and Undersheriff.

Levy then went to work for the Glenwood Springs Police Department as a Drug Task Force Officer and later as a Patrol Sergeant and Administrative Sergeant. Following his tour with Glenwood Springs, Levy joined the Silt Police Department as Chief of Police serving for nearly 10 years before retiring.

After retirement the Sheriff called and had a position he wanted Levy to fill. Levy then became a Sergeant in the Emergency Operations Department where he handles Wildland fires, Search and Rescue, HazMat and Emergency Management. Levy has served our community in law enforcement within Garfield County for 43 years and has been married for 44!

Levy has been actively involved in the community on various boards including Burning Mountain Fire District, Colorado River Fire Rescue Board, the Garfield County Fair Board and the Silt Heyday Committee.

Levy has been a Boy Scout Leader, 4 H leader, a youth basketball and baseball coach. He is Past Master of Rifle Masonic Lodge #129 and was named Silt Citizen of the Year in 2008.
